Bastide Blanche Bandol Rose 2019 - 1.5L
71% Mourvèdre, 14% Grenache, 12% Cinsault, 3% Clairette. In the early 1970s Michel and Louis Bronzo acquired the property of the Bastide Blanche, with an eye to produce from appellation Bandol wines the equal of more famous appellations like Châteauneuf. Their painstaking efforts were rewarded in 1993 when vintage conditions created the benchmark year to put Bandol in general and Bastide-Blanche, in particular, on the map of top producers in France. The wine offers an array of stone fruit and savoy herb notes, with garrigue and ripe peach aromas vying for attention with time in the decanter. This is definitely a rosé that has more "oomph" to it and evolves with time in the glass or decanter. It is also a great pairing for food and will give pleasure for months.
