Chappellet Chenin Blanc 2019
100% Chenin Blanc. Chappellet Winery is located on the slopes of Pritchard Hill, arguably the Napa Valley’s best known ‘neighborhood’ to not yet be designated with its own sub appellation. Pritchard Hill is named after the first settler in this part of the Napa Valley, Charles Pritchard. He first planted grapes here in 1882 – the Chappellet property is where he used to live. Fast forward and now, for five decades, the Chappellet family has been crafting world-class wines from fruit cultivated on the steep, rocky slopes of Pritchard Hill. As one of the first wineries to pioneer high-elevation hillside planting, these vineyards are more than 1,000 feet in elevation, and one of the few remaining great family-owned Napa Valley wineries, Chappellet Vineyard has influenced generations of vintners. This sophisticated expression of mountain-grown Chenin Blanc offers enticing aromas of citrus blossom, orange zest, subtle tropical fruit, fresh-cut hay and delicate minerality. It is pure and focused with a bright, fresh finish that let's you know these grapes are grown above the fog line in a cooler climate.
