Chappellet Mountain Cuvee 2019
44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 9% Petit Verdot, 7% Malbec, 4% Cabernet Franc. Chappellet Winery is located on the slopes of Pritchard Hill, arguably the Napa Valley’s best-known ‘neighborhood’ to not yet be designated with its own sub-appellation. Pritchard Hill is named after the first settler in this part of the Napa Valley, Charles Pritchard. He first planted grapes here in 1882 – the Chappellet property is where he used to live. Fast forward and now, for five decades, the Chappellet family has been crafting world-class wines from fruit cultivated on the steep, rocky slopes of Pritchard Hill. As one of the first wineries to pioneer high-elevation hillside planting, these vineyards are more than 1,000 feet in elevation, and one of the few remaining great family-owned Napa Valley wineries, Chappellet Vineyard has influenced generations of vintners. Blended from the traditional Bordeaux varietals the Chappellet Mountain Cuvee blend builds on the estate's five decades of experience crafting great Napa County mountain-grown wines. Each component varietal in the cuvée contributes nuances that complement each other. The result is a complex array of aromas and flavors that deliver pure pleasure in a glass. Made for more near-term enjoyment, this is the wine to choose when you’re looking for vivid, mouth-filling fruit flavors.
