Domaines Ott Chateau de Selle Cotes de Provence Rose 2019
56% Grenache, 25% Cinsault, 11% Syrah, 8% Mourvèdre. Château de Selle was the first estate acquired by Marcel Ott in 1912 and as such, it is the most distinguished and elegant of the three domaines. Perched on high limestone inland slopes where it is sheltered from winter frosts, the estate enjoys a microclimate of mild winters, early springs and warm and dry summers. All of this comes together to form a wine that has texture and acidity in spades, showing why this is one of the great rosés of the world.
Cotes de Provence
"The beauty of the Ott rosés is that they don't wallop you with confected aromas, remaining cool and elegant. The 2019 Cotes de Provence Rose Chateau de Selle—a blend of 56% Grenache, 25% Cinsault, 11% Syrah and 8% Mourvèdre—offers up scents of wet stones, grapefruit, lime and hints of wild strawberries. It's medium-bodied, with a fine line of acidity, a delicately silky texture and a lingering, refreshing finish." - Joe Czerwinski
