Gerard Boulay Chavignol Sancerre Tradition 2019
100% Sauvignon Blanc. The Boulay family has been harvesting grapes in Sancerre since 1380 with their vines in the famed "crus" of Sancerre, all on Kimmeridgian-centric soils, similar to the soils in Chablis. Boulay's vineyards produce some of the most distinctive and soil-inflected Sauvignon Blancs in the Loire, with an unmatched delineation and minerality. This bottling is all from young vines in his home village of Chavignol and is a perfect introduction to his wines. Full of life and complexity.
