Gerard Boulay Rose Sibylle 2019
100% Pinot Noir. The Boulay family has been harvesting grapes in Sancerre since 1380 with their vines in the famed "crus" of Sancerre, all on Kimmeridgian-centric soils. Unlike many Sancerre Roses, Gerard harvests his Pinot specifically to make rosé by direct press. It is not a selection of young vines as he has no young Pinot vines. This is a very silky rosé.
"Translucent orange-pink. Highly perfumed, mineral-accented strawberry, nectarine and orange zest scents, along with a hint of pungent flowers. Silky, seamless and focused on the palate, offering vibrant red berry, citrus fruit and white peach flavors and a sweetening touch of honey. Deepens with air and finishes very long and silky, with lingering red fruit character and vibrant mineral cut." - Josh Raynolds
