Ramonet Bienvenue Batard Montrachet 2004

Ramonet Bienvenue Batard Montrachet 2004

100% Chardonnay. This is the most foremost property in Chassagne, producing marvellous white wines of all levels from village wines through to the famed Montrachet. Established in the late 1920s by Pierre Ramonet, the domaine is now run by Noël Ramonet and his brother Jean-Claude. The domaine’s wines exhibit a rare combination of amplitude, depth, and precision while simultaneously being full and firm. This Ramonet style differs from the aesthetic pursued by many of today’s most celebrated white Burgundy producers. To sum it up, Ramonet is the white burgundy version of Henri Jayer or DRC. A leader in the world of Burgundy.

Tasting Notes
"Spicy aromas of lemon and minerals. Dense, pure and spicy on the palate; penetrating rather than fleshy, and very '04 in style. Perhaps a bit mute today but there's power behind the persistent stone and minerals flavors." - Stephen Tanzer
